Assessment of Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice of Physicians toward Pharmacovigilance in Public and Private Hospitals in Jordan

Knowledge, attitude, and practice toward pharmacovigilance (PV) among healthcare providers are strongly associated with reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADRs). This study was conducted to evaluate knowledge, identify barriers for ADR physicians working at public private hospitals in Jordan. using an online questionnaire the Arabic language, designed by members Health Hazard Evaluation Committee Jordan Food Drug Administration (JFDA) between (August 2016 December 2017). The completed Google Forms online. A total 341 rate ADRs is low physicians, only 4.7% have reported ADR. majority had never heard term PV before. Respondents also lacked awareness existence a centre Jordan, were unaware that monitoring carried out JFDA. Although seen form, many positive attitudes ADRs. According participant responses, main are: 1) not knowing how report, 2) importance reporting, 3) unavailability 4) general time pressure work environment. there doctors attitude willing implement their practices. More education training sessions needed order raise physician knowledge PV, enhance reporting.
